Honey Production

Welcome to our honey production guide!

Learn how honey bees collect nectar, produce honey, and store it inside the hive.

How Bees Make Honey

Honey bees visit flowers to collect nectar. They bring the nectar back to the hive, where other bees help process it into honey.

Bees reduce the moisture content by moving air through the hive and eventually seal the honey inside wax cells.

Harvesting Honey

When honey is ready, beekeepers remove selected frames from the hive.

The wax cappings are removed, and the honey is extracted, filtered, and bottled.

Honey Colors and Flowers

Honey can range from nearly clear to dark amber, depending on the flowers the bees visit.

Different floral sources can also affect the flavor and aroma of honey.

More information and photos will be added soon.

Storing Honey

Store honey in a tightly sealed container at room temperature.

Honey may naturally crystallize over time. This is normal and does not mean the honey has spoiled.
